Small Ledger

A quiet notebook on money, time and small wins.

I write here roughly once a month. Nothing to sell, no newsletter. Mostly a place to think out loud about budgeting, side projects that went somewhere and the ones that did not.

Three months of tracking every coffee

The number itself was not surprising. What surprised me was how quickly the habit of writing it down changed the ordering. Not fewer coffees, just fewer coffees I did not actually want.

Why I stopped reading market news in the morning

It was the one input I could remove without losing anything measurable. The portfolio did not notice. My mornings did.

The spreadsheet that outlived three apps

Every budgeting app I tried eventually wanted a subscription, a login or a redesign. The spreadsheet wanted nothing. It is still here.

Small wins, written down

Paying off one card. Cancelling two things I had forgotten about. Cooking on a Tuesday. None of it is impressive on its own, which is exactly why it is worth keeping a ledger.
